The Ascend Residential Development in Newcastle, Washington, demonstrates Team Nelson’s ability to manage complex land excavation, underground utilities and stormwater infrastructure on a residential site with unique technical and community considerations.
Ascend includes 37 single-family condominiums connected by a newly constructed loop road. The project was designed to blend modern residential development with the historic character of the surrounding area.
Team Nelson performed all major earthwork and underground utility installation, including sewer, storm and water systems built to City of Newcastle standards. The scope also included a 108,500-cubic-foot cast-in-place detention vault, roadway and frontage improvements, structural excavation for residential buildings and elevated boardwalk construction along 136th Ave SE.
In addition to site development, four existing structures were relocated to create the future Newcastle Heritage Park, preserving local history while supporting new residential growth.
